Hounded
Houndstooth in black and white is a classic design that originated in the Scottish lowlands. Being an Aussie, I have always associated the pattern with the iconic Australian retail store David Jones, who have long used it as part of their corporate logo design. Being this steeped in tradition and association can have it’s drawbacks. Is it possible to have a fresh take on this classic design?
Here are some examples of designers who have taken the challenge to modernise Houndstooth. Successful don’t you think?
Fluoro Pink Neon Punk Houndstooth Rug – Floor to Heaven
Happy Houndstooth Textile – Ivy and Piper
Houndstooth Patterned Coasters – Masters Of None
Merino Wool Interlocking Houndstooth Table Tiles – Masters Of None
Houndstooth Tea Towel – Avril Loreti
Houndstooth Shelving by Julia Quancard
(Unfortunately I cannot locate where to purchase these (Grrr… shakes fist in the air!) If you know please share with us all in the comments section below)
Pink and Blue Houndstooth Cot Blankets – Lil Bonbon
