Shell Shocked

One thing that instantly makes everyone think ‘seaside’ is shells! I’m pretty sure each and everyone one of us has collected shells along the beach shore in a classic cliché style.

I actually adore shells. I love all the intricate details, shapes and colours that they come in and could happily forage for hours looking for different specimens. Using shells in your decor has always been a staple in nautical interiors but recently I have noticed a resurgence in the popularity of shell lights.

After a little web trawling I was pleasantly surprised at the variety available on the market, something to suit most tastes and styles! So banish your thoughts of those 70s frames and small ornaments covered with a glued layer of shells (remember those?!!) and embrace the new era of shell decor.

Not Peter, Paul

I love everything Thomas Paul does. Every cushion, tea towel, shower curtain or bedspread. My dilemma was narrowing his range down to just one item to blog about. Impossible. So instead, I have created an Easter Feature!

Plastic Fantastic

Rugs are great, but you always need to worry about spills and dirty shoes staining them right? Wrong!

Big Game

Personally I find Taxidermy really frightening. Who wants some glassy-eyed creature staring at you as you (try to) relax on the couch? Not me!

So I have been loving all the new takes on taxidermy that have come out on the market recently. Soft upholstered animal heads for the kids rooms, wood or cardboard recreations for the adults. They are all a little bit fun, but there really hasn’t been one that matched a more elegant aesthetic until now.

The fabulous french duo Un Esprit En Plus have created these life-size rusty antlers that can be mounted indoors or out. Made from a sheet of metal, the outline and colour of the antler is allowed to shine while the 2d effect means you can mount them low down without losing an eye. Want a set? Contact Blanc-Leger.

Rainbow Bright

I’m not sure if there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but this light will surely shine as bright.

May I present to you the Maria S.C test Tube Lamp By Pani Jurek. A stunning chandelier like lamp, made from rows of test tubes set into a circular wooden frame.
